Background: Richard Gustavson grew up in Nassau County, Long Island. He graduated from Cornell University in 2011 and is currently a Ph.D. student in mathematics at the City University of New York Graduate Center, receiving is Masters in Mathematics in 2013. Richard has been tutoring privately since he was in high school. While at Cornell, he worked at the Math Support Center, a walk-in tutoring service for all areas of math at the university. He has taught SAT Math prep courses at TestTakers and the educational nonprofit Legal Outreach, and is currently an adjunct instructor of mathematics at Hunter College. When not focused on his studies or tutoring, Richard enjoys running, reading, and finding new music to listen to.
